Email notifications

Which emails the dashboard sends you, when, and how to stop them.

The dashboard emails you when we need you, so you don't have to keep checking. All its emails come from dashboard@refresh.gg.

Emails about signing in

  • Your invitation, when we add you to a project.
  • Your sign-in link, each time you ask for one. See Signing in.

These always come, because you need them to get in.

Emails when something needs you

These arrive within a minute or so of something happening:

Subject starts with When
Ready for your review: Something has moved to "Your review" and needs you to approve it or ask for changes.
A quote to approve: We've priced something outside the original plan.
Name replied on R-07 … Someone added to the conversation on a request in your project.

Each one has a button that takes you to your Requests board.

We don't email you for every chat message. That would be a lot of email. Unread messages go in the morning update instead.

The morning update

On weekday mornings (at 7:30, or 8:30 in summer), you may get one short email called Your morning update. It lists:

  • how many unread messages you have, in which channels, and
  • what's waiting on you, for example a review or a quote.

If there's nothing new and nothing waiting on you, we don't send it.

Stopping emails

At the bottom of every notification email is a Stop these emails link. There are two separate kinds:

  • Stopping from a "Ready for your review", "quote" or "replied on" email stops all emails when something needs you.
  • Stopping from a morning update stops the morning update only.

You'll see a page saying "Done". You'll still get sign-in links.

Replying to an email

If you reply to one of these emails, your reply goes to Ben at Refresh, not into the dashboard. It'll be read, but it's better to reply in the dashboard itself so the whole team sees it and it stays with the work.
